Shake Up

One of my students brought in a book today that had Snow Globes in it and she said that she liked it when the snow was all going around but thought it was ugly when it settled... and I started to think about how I always like to shake things up, to get things moving around... but when things are all settled I feel down.

It came to mind how I need to shake things up again in my life and even in my faith. Things have settled. My life isn't bad by any means but seems to lack that sense of life. When the snow is going around in the globe it looks to be real but when it settle it is just lifeless. Nothing is going on at all but just a little shake and it comes back to life.

Jesus came to Earth to "shake" things up and set people on the right path. We are called to do the same. When we just go along with the world, we settle. The life that we are to live is one of challenge and questioning. Not just in the area of faith but how we see society / world . When we don't just go with the status que we challenge what they represent.

This is idea of "settling" and "shaking" things up is one I need to think more on and revisit again in another post. But I leave with this :
